Dear E/W Shuttle Passengers,

ALL OTHER PRE-RAGBRAI SHUTTLE PASSENGERS, your source for explanation and directions and addresses and everything else is YOUR JUNE LETTER, a travel guidebook for PBV. Use the Table of Contents to read about your shuttle. Read "The Last Day of RAGBRAI" for explanations of our Post-RAGBRAI Shuttles.

The remainder of this update is about the E/W Shuttle from Burlington to Glenwood on July 19 and 20.

Many of you are searching for your parking confirmation email. You purchased parking through TicketSpice (not PBV). As you search, your are looking for a receipt from TicketSpice.

  • Our shuttle will operate in the rear (north) parking lot of the school. Here, our crew will load bikes. Here, you will present your parking confirmation to Burlington's volunteers.
  • Coaches will stage along Willow Avenue, east of the school.
  • Everyone who ordered a box lunch for Saturday morning can claim it in the rear parking lot of Ed Stone Middle School, regardless of where they park.
  • Nearly 1000 passengers will use our E/W Shuttle. Therefore, all riders, regardless of where they park, should allow time for congestion at any point while loading bikes, showing parking confirmations, parking, and shuttling from one parking location to another.
  • For a little while longer, indoor sleeping at Ed Stone Middle School is available for $25 on your PBV application.
  • Camping is prohibited at Ed Stone.

  • 60-75 of our riders have reserved this location. Parking at this location is not full.

  • Riders who park at Westland Mall may drop off their bikes and bags at Ed Stone before parking at Westland Mall.

  • Coaches WILL BE FULL. Anything you carry on board the coach may be in your lap throughout the trip. Some coaches have an overhead shelf and some don’t. This is beyond our control.
  • We allow two bags per person under the coach and one bike per person on our trailers.
  • Write to Kay@pkbelly.com (if you haven't already) to advise us of any EXTRA BIKES on the E/W Shuttle. (A fee of $75 for an extra bike will be assessed if the bike owner is not using any PBV shuttle on 7/20.)
  • Remove handlebar lights or Garmins or computers. Remove tool kits and bags. Remove everything from your bike before it is loaded on our trailers.
  • A late section of the June Letter (link at the top of this update) explains what you can do to protect your bike for transport on our trailers. You can present your bike for loading in a box, case, or bag. You can present your bike for loading fully assembled, with foam pipe insulation over your tubing and other protection over your components. Or you can present a naked bike for loading. We appreciate you being our partners in protecting your bike for transport.
  • If you have CARBON WHEELS, you must tag your bike with this message: "DO NOT HANG THIS BIKE." Speak to our loaders about your carbon wheels. (This is true on ANY PBV shuttle, if we're transporting a bike with carbon wheels.)

Indoor Sleeping on Site

At some point soon, we will close indoor sleeping at Ed Stone Middle School on Friday night, July 19th. We still have space available.

Shuttle passengers may donate $25 per person to the school for the privilege and convenience of sleeping on site in air-conditioning at long-term parking. Those who make the donation may bring their bedrolls into the school gym and other areas to sleep indoors. (No alcohol and no mess, please, inside the school. A bottle of water is the only beverage you'll bring inside the school.)

For a little longer, you can login and select indoor sleeping on your PBV application form. 100% of your donation will be given to Ed Stone in the form of a check from PBV.

Box Lunches for Your Coach Ride

We have closed this option.

Those who ordered may claim lunches at Ed Stone Middle School's rear parking lot on Saturday morning.

Maps

Soon we will publish our maps of all RAGBRAI overnight towns. The Burlington Map will show both parking locations and the rider route to Ed Stone on the last day of RAGBRAI.

Those who park in overflow parking at Westland Mall may follow signs from the dip site to the mall. A significant number of riders from PBV and other charters will be riding to the Mall to collect their cars and then drive to Ed Stone for baggage.

You can also watch https://www.burlingtonragbrai.com/ for their town map, "coming soon."
