Pork Belly Update- Before We Go

Dear Friends,

This is one of the most exciting moments of our year, when we're all on pins and needles about the Route of our next Iowa Odyssey! In three, or maybe four vehicles, we and our crew will leave home in the dark tomorrow morning-- to set up our booth for the big Bike Expo in Des Moines. We'll spend the day greeting friends and chatting with folks about RAGBRAI and other PBV-supported cycling events!

On Saturday night, we'll gather at the RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party and wait for those eight town names. It's incredibly thrilling to be able to look at our Iowa maps and envision our Week in the Corn!

Most of you don't live in Iowa, but you can guess the route at RAGBRAI.com, and you can tune into the PBV app on Saturday night to learn the route, once it's been announced!

Before we go, we hope it's useful to remind you of a few things:

1) Shuttle Details and Departure Times, Coming Soon

We want you to know that our shuttles don't tend to sell out. Sometimes, very late in the season, a couple of them would get tight on space, but when the route announcement happens on Saturday, you don't have to rush. Although we WILL turn on shuttle registration on Sunday morning, we suggest you sign up for shuttles only after you've received an update from us, so that you can be sure of the details and the departure times. Our new folks especially should wait for the update.

We need a little time to absorb the route and think through the effect on our shuttle schedules. We hope to send an update by Monday, January 27th.

2) Current Availability of Support Services

Our tent service is about 75% full today.

Our Weeklong Support is about half full today.

We don't know what effect the announcement of the 2025 RAGBRAI route will have on these numbers, but the tent service is usually the first to sell out.

3) Contacting Us This Weekend

We try to be accessible most times of the year, but Saturday will be a busy one! We'll have a lot going on and will most likely not be able to keep up with phone calls, emails, and texts. And it might take us a day or two to dig out!
